White Spruce, Picea glauca are a large conifer common in the boreal region. They can grow upwards of thirty meters. It has stiff, sharply pointed needles that have a skunk odor when crushed and cones with thumbnail like edges. This tree is adaptable to different environments but it’s shallow root system makes the tree susceptible to windfall.
