Inspired by a nature sighting while swimming in a mountain lake. There was a submerged log hosting a beautiful patch of flowering Round-leaved Sundews, Drosera rotundifolia. Nestled amongst them was as Columbian Spotted Frog, Rana luteiventris. I included mosquitos in the painting because they are both a pollinator of the Sundews as well as a food source for the carnivorous plant and the frog.
