Wood Frogs, Lithobates sylvaticus have a special adaptation that allows them to enter a dormancy period where their blood and tissue freezes and their heart stops beating. They are able to survive this by producing an “antifreeze” substance. As the weather warms in the spring they thaw and return to feeding and breeding. Wood frogs have several development stages from eggs, tadpole, tadpole with legs, froglet with tail to froglet.

Original paintings may have slight marks on the paper outside of the painted image. I do my best to keep them clean while working and only select the pieces that are white clean. A minimal mark from an eraser is sometimes visible.
