Marsh Wrens, Cistothorus palustris inhabit the shoreline vegetation of ponds and wetlands. They live a secretive life in the reeds, where the male builds domed nests for multiple females. In addition to the active nests, males build a number of “dummy” nests around their territory. Each clutch can have 3-10 eggs Marsh Wrens are fierce little birds that compete with other birds by destroying nests, piercing eggs and killing nestlings. They have a rapid, buzzing song full of trills and gurgles, and they sometimes sing through the night, as well as at dusk and dawn.

Original paintings may have slight marks on the paper outside of the painted image. I do my best to keep them clean while working and only select the pieces that are white clean. A minimal mark from an eraser is sometimes visible.
